Yokohama considers closure of Salem, Virginia plant, cuts 392 jobs

Yokohama Tire is considering the closure of its tyre manufacturing plant in Salem, Virginia, USA and has already announced plans to significantly reduce tyre production there. The plant has been in operation since the 1960s and has produced tyres for Yokohama since the company’s acquisition of Mohawk Rubber Company in 1989.
