Apollo Tyres will open an advanced tire testing facility in Ivalo, Finland, for winter and all-season evaluation. This move marks a major milestone in Apollo’s commitment to innovation, testing excellence, and customer-focused product development, the company said. Apollo Tyres is building the facility through a long-term agreement with UTAC, a global automotive testing and certification group. UTAC will construct exclusive infrastructure and dedicated test tracks for real-world winter and all-season tire testing.
“This is a strategic investment in autonomy, efficiency and agility,” said Daniele Lorenzetti, chief technology officer, Apollo Tyres. “We eliminate bottlenecks, increase our cost-effectiveness, gain full control of test schedules, and empower our teams to iterate and validate products. Both Apollo and Vredestein brand, on their terms, especially during the critical winter season.”
Apollo Tyres Finland Facility Standards in Tire Testing
The facility meets and exceeds all current and upcoming standards for winter and all-season tire development, Apollo said. It enables extended-season testing windows to shorten development timelines and accelerate go-to-market cycles. This shift reflects greater vertical integration in performance validation across the tire industry.
Apollo will centralize key testing functions at a single, dedicated location in Finland.
Apollo Tyres plans to make the testing facility fully operational by December 2025. It said it will immediately support development efforts for current and future tire product lines.
