Prologis supplies solar energy to Fastned in Belgium

Must read

Prologis and Fastned link logistics real estate to sustainable mobility. Through a long-term agreement, solar panels on the roofs of Prologis sites in Belgium will directly supply green energy to Fastned’s fast charging network.

This concerns a ‘corporate power purchase agreement’ with a term of 15 years. Fastned will purchase approximately 90% of the electricity generated at three Prologis logistics sites in Boom and Tongeren. The company wants to run its fast-charging stations maximally on locally produced renewable energy, which at the same time contributes to greater price stability in the long term.

The solar installations have a total capacity of approximately 8.1 MWp and are currently in the development phase. Commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2026.

Over the full term of the contract, the solar energy would be good for the equivalent of approximately 500 million electric kilometers, or several million charging sessions.
