TGI Opens Donation Drive for Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

Must read

Tire Group International (TGI) has launched a Hurricane Melissa aid drive at its Miami warehouse to support families in Jamaica. The company invites donors to contribute nonperishable food and essential goods.

“It is very difficult to sit back and see the images coming out of Jamaica,” said Joaquin Gonzalez Jr., president of TGI. “Natural disasters of this magnitude have a way of bringing families together. If we can play a part in that, then it is our obligation to help and aid.”

TGI is coordinating with local business partners and religious organizations to move donated Hurricane Melissa aid to impacted communities.

How to help:

  • Drop-off location: 7500 NW 35th Terrace, Miami, FL 33122
  • Collection hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

If you live outside Miami, TGI directs donors to its Amazon donation link.

Requested items include:

  • Canned goods (soups, vegetables, beans, meats, fruits);
  • Dry goods (rice, pasta, cereal, granola bars);
  • Bottled water;
  • Baby food and formula;
  • Hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant);
  • Paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels).
