The Austrian trailer manufacturer Berger Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH becomes fully owned by Schmitz Cargobull AG. The German group has had a 49 percent stake in Berger since 2024. The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.
Andreas Schmitz, CEO of Schmitz Cargobull AG, says: “The collaboration has demonstrated the deep technical expertise and dedication behind Berger Fahrzeugtechnik products. With this acquisition, we acquire Berger’s distinctive expertise in lightweight construction, which ideally complements our portfolio. This creates an even wider range of efficient transport solutions for our customers from a single source.” In Belgium, Berger light trailers have been sold through the Schmitz Cargobull network since 2025.
