(PODCAST) TRUCKSTOP #22: David Van de Voorde, Transport Doms

Must read

In this ‘Truckstop’, host Jeroen Ver Schakelen goes to Sint-Katelijne-Waver for a conversation with David Van de Voorde of Transport Doms. No classic chat about trucks or numbers, but an open conversation about the boundary between work and private life. Or better said: when that boundary literally disappears. David lives in the same place where the transport company is located. The conversation takes place at the table where he normally receives clients and applicants and discusses plans. It immediately makes it clear how strongly his work and home life overlap.

Employees come in for documents, customers call at unexpected times and the children do not always understand why their dad – even when he is at home – does not always have time for them. Yet he consciously tries to make room for his family. To occasionally escape the constant hustle and bustle, David seeks relaxation by bike or motorcycle. He regularly goes on long bike rides with his brother. Not to set sporting records, but mainly to clear your head.
