It has now become a tradition: with every edition of Truck Driver Day, the editors of Transportmedia look for original promotions. We selected nine and organized a competition on Friday, December 12. And the winner is… Osselaer Trans!
Osselaer Trans, located in Herzele (Sint-Lievens-Houtem), is a family business that was founded in 1988 and has existed for three generations. Five years ago, Yves Osselaer took over the company from his uncles and aunts, after having worked as a driver for years. The transport company has 23 vehicles and employs 24 drivers. “We participate in Truck Driver Day every year, which has become a tradition. But in general we always try to meet the needs of our drivers as best as possible,” Yves explains.
This year, Yves Osselaer chose to meet his drivers at customers where they were loading. “Since they know we organize something every year, they were kind of expecting it. What they didn’t know was what was in the gift package. This year it was a polo, T-shirts and a bandana.” Yves did not expect to win the competition at all: “We were one of the smallest participants and there were a few big names in front of us. So we mobilized everyone to vote for us!” The sympathetic and authentic appearance of this entrepreneur also convinced four out of ten voters, because Osselaer Trans won the competition by a wide margin. “And because it is not only on Truck Driver Day that we have to thank our drivers, I may organize something in May 2026,” Yves Osselaer is already announcing.
