GDL Transport from Menen has ordered 12 additional Scania 460S Super tractor units. Three years after an initial order of eight identical copies, the transport company, specialized in international wine transport, opts for that model again. The vehicles strengthen the fleet of approximately 55 trucks.

After choosing one brand for years, GDL Transport joined forces with Scania as an additional supplier for trucks in 2022, after an extensive market study. “Today we are satisfied across the board with the vehicles from the first order we placed with Scania, with a clear decrease in consumption compared to the other models in the fleet,” says Jurgen Gheysen, director of GDL Transport. “The consumption of our Scanias with the ‘Super’ drivetrain fluctuates around 24 to 25 liters per 100 km, and the drivers are more than satisfied with the comfort of the 460S. And since the delivery of the previous order, we have taken over Fury Transport, where Scania was also the main supplier.”
Just like the previous order, the 12 new trucks from GDL Transport were delivered by Scania Kuurne. “The collaboration runs very smoothly, both in terms of ordering and delivery, as well as the service,” says Jurgen Gheysen. “With deliveries throughout Europe, often in mountain regions, this reliability is very important for GDL Transport.”
