Elite Garages has teamed up with automotive YouTuber Joe Achilles for a new series of videos featuring Elite’s own 2011 BMW 320D. With an impressive 250,000 miles on the clock, the car is set to undergo a series of challenges to see how it performs compared to when it was new. In the first episode, Joe visits Elite Garages Dorchester, where the team prepares the BMW for its upcoming adventure. The service includes fitting Bosch parts, using Comma 5W-30 oil, and installing a fresh set of Michelin CrossClimate tyres to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Achilles gives viewers a detailed look at the car’s condition and teases what’s to come, including a nostalgic trip to Munich, the birthplace of the BMW. Along the way, the series promises to explore the realities of long-term ownership, highlighting how proper maintenance and quality components can keep a vehicle running reliably for years.
Elite’s mascot, Graham the ‘Treaddybear’, joins Joe on the journey to Germany. This collaboration blends entertainment with practical insight, offering a compelling case study on durability and care for high-mileage vehicles.
The new series follows a previous project focusing on real-world motoring. Elite Garages prepared Achilles’ Volkswagen Passat ahead of an ambitious challenge to drive 1,500 miles from Morocco to England on just a single tank of fuel.
The Passat completed the journey, and the resulting YouTube video has since amassed more than 1.2 million views. The project demonstrated the car’s efficiency, the quality of Elite Garages’ technical expertise, and the low rolling resistant, energy efficient Michelin e-Primacy tyres.
