Verhelst Logistics recently ordered a new electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 from Eeckhout Trucks & Vans Services. However, this vehicle was intended to tow a tipper and the customer wanted to be able to tip without straining the electric motor. Together with Groep Feytray-Adam, Eeckhout Trucks & Vans Services developed an e-π£π§π’ πΌπ½πΉπΌπππΆπ»π΄.
“With the eActros, the electric motor is mounted directly on the axle. As a result, a classic PTO solution via the gearbox cannot be used, as is often possible with other brands. Together with Group Feytray-Adam, specialist in truck bodies and Palfinger systems, our team developed our own solution with an inverter and separate electric motor that drives the hydraulic pump. This allows the truck to tip completely electrically without having to run a traditional engine. A technically challenging process that requires innovation, practical knowledge and perseverance. came together,β says Bruno Eeckhout (manager of Eeckhout Trucks & Vans Services).
