In the second quarter of 2026, Volvo Trucks will launch a new version of the FH Electric with e-axis. This makes a range of up to 600 kilometers possible. The batteries are adapted to the new MCS standard, so that they can be charged in 40 minutes.
The second generation of the Volvo FH Electric is available with a standard cabin and with the Aero cabin, but only in the 6 × 2 version with trailing bag. The new FH Electric can thus take up to 8 batteries with a total capacity of 780 kWh on board. He retains a similar load capacity as a classic diesel truck when it drives with a total weight of 48 tons. Thanks to the trailing bag, the weight distribution has been optimized, taking into account the weight of the extra batteries in combination with heavy trailers.
The batteries are adapted to the new MCS standard (Megawatt Charging System). Charging the battery pack (from 20% to 80%) takes approximately 40 minutes, which means that this can be done within the legally required rest time for truck drivers in the EU.
Interested customers can already sign a declaration of intent to buy the new FH Electric.
