Days after publishing the preliminary results of its latest all-season tyre testing, Auto Bild has marked the autumn equinox by releasing details of the corresponding qualifying round for its 2025 winter tyre test. Auto Bild tester Dierk Möller has evaluated the wet and snow braking performance of 51 brands of tyre in size 225/40R18, selecting the 20 best combined results for further evaluation. The difference between the best and worst stopping distances was substantial.
