WDP is expanding its logistics portfolio with the acquisition of five urban distribution sites, specifically aimed at the B2B delivery of food professionals. The sites, spread over Antwerp, Namur, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Wevelgem and Evergem, together represent 25,000 m² of rentable surface on a total ground area of approximately 75,000 m².
The transaction was realized through a contribution in kind, with a total real estate value of 30 million euros. Four of the five locations are rented out for a long time to Sligro, market leader in Foodservice in the Benelux, while the site in Evergem has been rented to the Zon hospitality industry. All lease contracts are fixed triple-network contracts with a duration of at least 10 years.
The purchased sites were previously part of the real estate portfolio of Metro AG and were redeveloped via LCV Real Estate. Their strategic location near existing WDP warehouses supports cluster formation and offers an ideal base for city distribution.
With this investment, WDP strengthens its position as a real estate partner for the food sector and strengthens its long-term cooperation with sligro, including in cooling and freezing logistics.
