Have you always dreamed of a life at sea but didn’t know how to get started? Containership giant CMA CGM has introduced a new tool for folks just like you. The carrier recently launched CMAShips.com, a global recruitment website for workers interested in jobs aboard CMA CGM Group’s 350 vessels.
According to the Marseilles, France-based carrier, the new online platform was designed to simplify the application process as well as promote maritime professions, with the end goal of helping the company attract, recruit, and retain the best seafaring talent—officers, engineers, catering staff, and cadets. The site features crew testimonials and presentations about onboard living conditionsas well as information on career development opportunities, the company says.
“Essential to the operation of our vessels, seafarers are at the heart of our priorities. This new website goes far beyond a simple recruitment platform: It opens the way to a meaningful career, driven by commitment and international opportunities,” Julien Loridon, vice president of CMA Ships, said in a release.
The launch of the global recruitment portal is part of CMA CGM’s broader strategy to enhance its attractiveness to seafarers worldwide. This includes proactive measures to promote gender diversity on board through the “She Sails” program, which encourages and supports women’s careers in maritime professions.
