With five new DAF XDs, supplied by Aerts Trucks, BD Logistics is strengthening its distribution fleet for city logistics and pallet distribution. The investment fits within a broader strategy that focuses on consolidation, reverse logistics and urban efficiency. “Today we work as a 24-hour pallet distributor for the whole of Belgium. Customers can deliver their goods to us or we pick them up, after which we deliver them anywhere in Belgium within 24 hours. This requires a very specific approach. There are few players who master city logistics as much as we do. You not only need the right vehicles for this, but also permits, operational experience and knowledge of urban distribution,” says Kristof Gouvaerts, Managing Director BD Logistics. “The five new DAF XDs are a perfect fit for intensive urban operations, where agility, visibility and driver comfort are crucial.” In addition to the vehicle itself, the collaboration with Aerts Trucks also played an important role. “We don’t work with many partners, but Aerts Trucks is one of them. That family character, combined with professionalism, really makes the difference,” says Kristof Gouvaerts.
