Darwin Drones launches EYESEE Air for automated warehouse inventory

Must read

Darwin Drones is launching a new solution for automating inventory in warehouses with EYESEE Air. The technology uses autonomous drones and software to monitor inventory quickly and accurately, without the need for fixed infrastructure.

“Today, inventory is often a time-consuming and expensive process, where employees have to work at heights and checks are therefore carried out less frequently than desirable,” says Darwin Drones. “This can lead to inventory differences, production problems and operational losses.”

With EYESEE Air, Darwin Drones wants to simplify that process by disconnecting software and hardware. The solution runs on standard commercial drones, including DJI models, in combination with the EYESEE software platform. According to the developer, the system can therefore be rolled out at any location in just a few days and flexibly adapted to the needs of a warehouse.

The drones perform fully automated flights between pallet racks up to 20 meters high and read GS1 barcodes, while simultaneously collecting photographic evidence of each monitored location. Inventories would thus be more than ten times faster than with manual counts. “You can export the results directly to a WMS or ERP system.”

The solution is available via a monthly subscription starting from 500 euros, supplemented with a hardware package and training. EYESEE Air builds on a platform already used by companies such as L’Oréal, Pepsico, Renault Trucks and FM Logistic.

Darwin Drones will officially present the new solution during the SITL fair in Paris, from March 31 to April 2. The system will also be on display during demonstrations at LogiVille in Niel.
