Must read

With the new strategic plan ‘Impact 2030’, North Sea Port sets the course for a sustainable and resilient future. The port wants to further develop into a top European port with strong logistics chains, modern infrastructure and more attention to safety and quality of life.

The plan, which will be officially presented on November 17 during the North Sea Port Conference, builds on the previous strategic plan ‘Connect 2025′ and looks ahead to 2035. The central question is how the port can continue to grow sustainably together with its partners and create added value for the economy and society in the Netherlands, Flanders and Europe.

Cas König (photo), CEO of North Sea Port, emphasizes that cooperation and acceleration are crucial: “With this strategic plan we are creating a solid basis for sustainable growth of the industry in our cross-border port area, in balance with the environment.”

‘Impact 2030’ is based on five action areas:

  • Targeted sustainable growth in manufacturing and process industries, with a focus on energy and raw materials transition.
  • Increased resilience and safetyboth physically and digitally.
  • Spatial development for sustainable logistics and industrial expansion.
  • Smart infrastructureincluding new connections for hydrogen, CO₂, rail and inland shipping.
  • Efficient logistics chains via the digital platform North Sea Portal and additional intermodal connections.

With ‘Impact 2030’, North Sea Port wants to further strengthen its role as a sustainable engine of the cross-border economy.
