Van Mieghem focuses on electric transport and sustainable automation

Must read

Van Mieghem Logistics continues its transition to more sustainable logistics. After purchasing an electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 400, the company plans to soon include the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, a 100% electric tractor, in its fleet.

At the same time, Van Mieghem has put into use an automated warehouse of 15,000 m² in Tubize 2, equipped with 22,500 fully robotized pallet places. This building is part of a larger logistics complex of 35,000 m² that is being further expanded. Thanks to the use of AGV vehicles and the VNA system (Very Narrow Aisle), stock management achieves an exceptionally high degree of efficiency.

The company also confirms its environmental commitment: the site is CO₂ neutral, is powered by solar panels, recovers rainwater and promotes biodiversity through ecological grazing and the installation of beehives. A wind turbine project will further strengthen this sustainable approach in the coming years.

Van Mieghem is present at the Transport & Logistics Antwerp fair.
