Yusen Logistics (Americas) has entered into an exclusive, multiyear partnership with Rabot Inc. to deploy Vision AI technology aimed at improving packing accuracy, productivity and compliance across its U.S. contract logistics operations, the companies announced March 3.

The companies said the agreement combines Yusen’s fulfillment capabilities with Rabot’s real-time imaging and analytics tools as distribution centers seek greater consistency in order processing. According to a release, the technology is intended to help reduce packing errors, increase visibility into work cell performance and support adherence to customer-specific standard operating procedures.

As part of the partnership, Yusen will integrate Rabot’s Vision AI system into manual pack stations. The platform monitors the packing process in real time and can identify mistakes, note deviations from documented procedures and measure productivity trends, the companies said.

Rick Brunelle, Yusen Logistics’ director of automation, said the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to improve operational performance. “Rabot’s Vision AI platform provides actionable, data-driven insights that help us improve pack accuracy, enhance productivity and better support our frontline teams — while consistently meeting our customers’ demanding SOP and quality requirements,” Brunelle said.

Rabot said its system also tracks pack rates automatically and identifies bottlenecks that may slow fulfillment. The company described the platform as a tool that standardizes workflows by providing on-screen guidance aligned with each customer’s requirements.

Channa Ranatunga, co-founder and president of Rabot, said the collaboration embeds the company’s technology into high-volume environments. “By embedding our Vision AI directly into Yusen’s high-performance logistics environments, we’re transforming manual pack stations into intelligent work cells that ensure every order is packed accurately, efficiently and in full compliance,” Ranatunga said.

Yusen plans an accelerated rollout of the technology across its U.S. network, with the potential for later expansion. The system will support the company’s broader digital transformation efforts focused on fulfillment quality and operational resilience.

Yusen Logistics, whose parent company is based in Tokyo, ranks No. 20 on the Transport Topics airfreight forwarding sector list, No. 27 on the ocean freight forwarding list and No. 37 among dry storage warehousing firms.
