Yokohama Rubber announced that a car equipped with ADVAN brand tires finished first in the GT300 class during Round 5 of the 2025 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series. The 52-lap, 186-mile race took place Aug. 23–24 at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture. This marks the third victory this season for a car fitted with ADVAN tires.
CARGUY MKS RACING’s No. 7 CARGUY FERRARI 296 GT3, driven by Zak O’Sullivan and Rikuto Kobayashi, claimed the victory. The team, competing in its first SUPER GT season, qualified second and started on the front row.
O’Sullivan kept close to the leader before handing the car to Kobayashi on lap 18. Despite a radio problem cutting team communication, Kobayashi took the lead on lap 35 and held it. The car crossed the finish line 17 seconds ahead, giving the O’Sullivan/Kobayashi rookie pairing their first win.
