Xwift has purchased two new Volvo FM Electric tractors, bringing the number of electric trucks in its fleet to seven. The new acquisitions are used for the Volvo factory in Ghent, in collaboration with DSV Road.
The vehicles are part of DSV Road’s daily logistics activities in and around the port of Ghent. They can fast charge in between at the DSV Contract Logistics site Evenstuk in Ghent. “The port environment places high demands in terms of reliability, safety and efficiency. At the same time, the need for emission-free transport solutions is growing. With these electric tractors we respond to both challenges. The trucks drive completely locally without emissions and thus contribute to a quieter and more sustainable logistics chain,” says Pieter Denys, CEO of Xwift.
