Warehouses De Pauw (WDP) has taken an important step in its sustainability strategy. By the end of 2025, 72% of the real estate portfolio will be green certified, representing approximately 5.9 million m² of logistics real estate with a value of approximately 5.7 billion euros. In 2022, only 29% of the portfolio was certified.
The Climate Action Plan, launched in 2022, forms the basis of that approach. WDP integrates sustainability into all facets of its activities, from development and operation to financing. New projects are realized at least according to high sustainability standards, such as BREEAM In-Use Very Good or equivalent.
Certification is mainly done via BREEAM In-Use, while in Romania the EDGE system is used. Both methods focus on concrete performance in terms of energy, water consumption and material use. This certification is a means to continuously improve buildings and make them more sustainable.
