WDP just completed an asset swap with the Luxembourg state, meaning it now owns 100% of WDP Luxembourg SA. At the same time, WDP sold a logistics site in Foetz to the Luxembourg government.
WDP acquired the remaining 45% interest in WDP Luxembourg SA, which was owned by the Luxembourg government. In exchange, WDP sold the recently acquired site in Foetz, good for approximately 17,000 m² of logistics space.
WDP entered the Luxembourg market in 2016 through a partnership with the Luxembourg state, aimed at developing logistics infrastructure in Eurohub Sud and Eurohub Centre, among others. In the meantime, this joint venture has grown into a multimodal platform with a value of approximately 175 million euros and a total lettable area of approximately 140,000 m², spread over five sites.
With additional investments, the total value of the Luxembourg platform even rises to more than 220 million euros. Now that the original objectives have been achieved, the Luxembourg government is phasing out its participation. For WDP, the operation leads to a simplification of the group structure and a more efficient development of the activities in the Grand Duchy.
