The Hungarian carrier may be less visible since the Lithuanian fleets have captured a larger share of international transport, but it continues to renew its fleet. He has placed an order for 925 vehicles for the year 2026.
Waberer’s fleet currently consists of approximately 2,800 trucks. This is less than the 3,500 units the company had at the height of its expansion, but Waberer’s nevertheless continues to renew its fleet very regularly, keeping the average age of its international transport fleet very low: three years in 2025 and even two years after this new wave of renewal, which is justified by the figures regarding fixed assets. “Due to the renewal of the fleet between 2022 and 2024, the number of breakdowns has decreased by 39.15%, while the associated repair costs have decreased by 42.56%, from 1.35 million euros to 776,000 euros,” the fleet manager explains. This means that one in three trucks will be replaced during this year.
However, it is surprising how little alternative propulsion and fuels the Hungarian carrier uses: although it uses HVO for part of its international activities, its fleet consists of only 30 alternative propulsion vehicles (a mix of LNG and electric trucks). The press release does not state whether electric trucks are also included in the 925 vehicles ordered for 2026.
