In Logiville in Niel, the VIL opened ‘Cilo – Circular Logistics’ yesterday. This ‘Immersive Room’ is an experience space where companies interactively discover the transition from linear to circular supply chains.
Cilo brings the entire process of circular logistics to life and shows how discarded products become raw materials again. The initiative wants to inspire companies to expand circular supply chains into a successful and scalable business model.
During the opening ceremony, with Flemish Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele and 200 managers, Kurt van Donink, Vice President European Logistics Nike, also gave insight into how the sports brand uses the worldwide on circular supply chains and logistics. We asked him how his organization has tackled that in concrete terms, why companies really have to focus on it and whether it requires heavy investments.
The project came about with the support of ERDR and the Flemish government and can now be visited in Log! Ville in Niel.
