Katleen Schelkens has been in the transport world as a ‘Ladytrucker’ for 23 years. In August 2023, after many years, she finally took the step to work for herself. That choice was accompanied by the order of a Scania R590 V8.
“I ordered it exactly the way I wanted it,” says Katleen. “With all the comfort equipment, a comfortable bed for naps when I have to wait, fully air -suspended and with the power and sound that are so unique to a Scania V8. I drive it every day and I am more in it than in my seat at home, so my new truck had to be completely ‘finished’.” She mainly does tipper transports for ground and demolition work and also road construction. “But no asphalt, that’s a lot of waiting and I don’t have the patience for that!”
