Exceptra, part of the 2Fund group, took the impressive 770S V8 A8X4/4 into use last year. This is one of the first Scanias worldwide to be delivered with the brand new G38CH gearbox, specially developed for trucks with a high total weight.
“As a special transport company, Exceptra is specialized in the transport of heavy pole machines,” says company manager Timmy De Jongh. “We can handle a tow of up to 137 tons, which means that we can move machines weighing around 89 tons. We do this mainly in Belgium, Northern France and the Netherlands. We have three tractors, combined with a semi-five-axle and a semi-four-axle. The showpiece is the Scania 770S, with the legendary V8 engine. The truck was delivered from the factory, so no bodywork was required. Moreover, we have opted for all the comfort of the driver.”
“We chose this tractor because of its good price-quality ratio. We deliberately chose the 770 hp engine, coupled to the G38 gearbox. This is a new gearbox from Scania, equipped with crawler gears and an overdrive gear.”
