Stop saying ‘Corneel Geerts Transportgroup’, but ‘CG’. The Antwerp group has made its name change official with the inauguration of its new headquarters… in the center of Wijnegem. However, the memory of the founder of this family business continues to live on in the slogan ‘inspired by Corneel Geerts’.
After considering thoroughly renovating the site on Bijkhoevelaan, the Geerts family preferred to completely renovate a building they owned in the center of Wijnegem. The management, control and shipping departments are now located there. That is approximately 35 of the total of 200 employees. “With the new technologies it is perfectly possible to manage operational activities remotely. Moreover, by removing the offices at our main location in Wijnegem, we have freed up space to build an additional 900 m² of storage space,” explains Sven Geerts. The planning teams remain based at the operational locations in Wijnegem, Maasmechelen and Venlo.
Another special feature of the new CG is that there is no CEO. “We have set up a new, more modern management structure under the supervision of Valpeo,” explains Kenneth Geerts. “This has led to the establishment of a new management committee and an advisory board consisting of external experts. The management team consists of (from left to right in the photo) Kevin Geerts (Operations and IT), Sven Geerts (Purchasing and Legal Affairs), Dirk Lambrechts (Finance), Inge De Bruyn (HR, Quality, Compliance and Safety) and Kenneth Geerts (Sales and Marketing).”
