Kenda Tires began the 2025 Formula Drift season with a victory at the Long Beach Grand Prix Circuit on April 5. Fredric Aasbo, driving for Papadakis Racing, took first place in his Toyota GR Supra using the newly reformulated VEZDA UHP MAX+ tires.

Kenda designed the VEZDA UHP MAX+ for both street and track. The tire includes a high-silica compound for maximum grip and optimal heat cycling. It also features an asymmetric tread pattern for quick response, and a reinforced internal structure for durability under load.
Aasbo’s win demonstrated how VEZDA UHP MAX+ tires maintain grip under intense drift conditions and tight transitions, Kenda said. Several drivers ran the rear tires for four or more laps—double the typical lifespan.
Kenda Driver Roster Delivers at Formula Drift Opener
In addition to Aasbo’s victory, Kenda’s lineup delivered standout performances. Daniel Stuke won the Type S PRO Seeding bracket. Ryan Tuerck debuted a refreshed build and made a strong run through competition. Ken Gushi, Johnathan Castro, Nik Noback, and others demonstrated speed, style, and control across various platforms, Kenda said.
