TyreSafe warns of ‘crisis’ in maintenance of UK’s 5.1m van fleet

Must read

TyreSafe’s analysis of Verifleet data in 2024 has revealed a critical safety issue within the UK’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) sector. Vans are failing their first MOT at twice the rate of cars, 25.9 per cent versus 12.6 per cent, with brakes and tyres as the main culprits. This affects a record fleet of over 5.1 million vans, which has grown by more than one million since 2015 and now accounts for 58.5 billion vehicle miles annually.
