Must read

Tyre safety organisation TyreSafe has published its Annual Review 2025, a year it says has been “defined by partnership and progress”. The collaborative approach outlined during the briefing in the middle of the year has been led by newly formalised partnerships to align with major tyre trade associations, the NTDA, BTMA and ITMA. The review also looks to the future, with 2026 marking TyreSafe’s 20th anniversary. TyreSafe will host delegates at The Belfry on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 to celebrate this landmark with a special edition of the Annual Briefing and a Gala Dinner. You can download the review here.

Highlights from TyreSafe’s 19th year included hosting more than 225 members and supporters, from local authorities and enforcement agencies to trade associations and global partners, at its 2025 briefing, demonstrating the reach and impact of its work. This work has also been recognised with national and international awards. In 2025, TyreSafe received the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award (for the second time), the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving Award, and a nomination for the Brake Fleet Champions Award. TyreSafe said the accolades reflect the strength of its “evidence-led approach and the collective effort of everyone who shares our vision.”

The review outlines TyreSafe’s vision and mission. In a nutshell, the TyreSafe vision is: “Zero harm to road users in the UK due to illegal or poorly maintained tyres.” The Mission, meanwhile, is: “To empower every road user with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to keep their tyres safe and roadworthy, reducing incidents and saving lives.”

TyreSafe’s 2025 campaigns also reached new audiences, and sought to inspire meaningful behavioural change through data-driven insight and creative storytelling. Its highlights included:
