Transport Van Praet (TVP) is expanding its fleet of 96 trucks and 162 trailers with a DAF XD Electric, two DAF XD 310 rigids and two Fiat Doblo vans. Regular partner Aerts Trucks supplies these five vehicles.

TVP, founded in 2000, today focuses on four niche markets: air freight, pharmaceutical logistics, high value shipments and e-commerce. Standards, certification and CO₂ reduction play a key role in those sectors. After previous tests with another brand, TVP opted for the DAF XD Electric, recently awarded Truck of the Year 2026. The electric tractor is used in pharmaceutical transport and has an autonomy of approximately 500 km. This fits well with TVP’s operational area, which extends in a radius of 350 km around Brussels. The truck fully charges in four to five hours.
On the new site, which will open in 2027, TVP plans a charging station with eight charging points, controlled by smart software. This system distributes the available energy according to need and takes favorable electricity rates into account. To remain competitive compared to diesel, TVP aims for a cost between 0.20 and 0.25 euros per kWh.
Buyback contracts
Although TVP usually waits for new generations of trucks, the company is now consciously taking the decision. “Partly because of the strong regeneration capabilities of the DAF and our close collaboration with DAF Trucks and Aerts Trucks,” says managing director Nils Van Praet. “This collaboration results, among other things, in maintenance and buyback contracts.” Aerts Trucks has now supplied 46 of the 96 trucks in the TVP fleet.
The two DAF XD 310 rigid trucks provide transport between the airport and the hinterland. The two new Fiat Doblo vans will provide so-called ‘vain-to-vain’ transport in the pharmaceutical sector. Thanks to the rapid availability from stock, TVP can immediately deploy these vehicles.
