Must read

TotenEnergies is taking an important step towards participation in the future Dutch kilometer tax system for trucks. The company has signed a strategic contract with the RDW, the Dutch authority associated with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Thanks to this agreement, TotalEnergies officially starts the accreditation procedure as a European Electronic Tollaftdienst (EETS) provider in the Netherlands.

From July 1, 2026, the Netherlands will raise toll on heavy trucks (above 3.5 tons) via a system based on GNSS technology, comparable to what is already used in Belgium and Germany. Through his subsidiary AS 24, which focuses on freight transport, TotenEnergies wants to offer Tolkservices directly at the opening of the market. The well -known Passango OBU is used for this, a reliable solution for cross -border toll management in Europe.

Mathieu Soulas, Senior Vice President New Mobilities at TotaalEnergies, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration: “Thanks to more than 30 years of experience, TotalEnergies offers smooth electronic toll solutions in 21 countries. Thanks to this collaboration, our customers will soon be able to travel through the Netherlands without any problems.”

Also at RDW people are satisfied with the accession of total energy to the accreditation process. “TotalEnergies is a reliable party with extensive experience in European tolling tax. Their accession increases freedom of choice and promotes interoperability – two important pillars of our new system,” said Jan Strijk, director of tolls at RDW.

With this step, TotalEnergies underlines its ambition to offer transporters throughout Europe efficient and simple mobility solutions.
