The Tire Industry Association (TIA) released its updated Legislative Position Papers for 2025. These documents reaffirm the association’s commitment to representing the interests of the tire industry at the federal level and will serve as key advocacy tools throughout the legislative year, it said.
TIA said the Legislative Position Papers form the foundation of the association’s federal policy strategy. Each paper outlines TIA’s stance on major legislative and regulatory issues affecting the tire industry and recommends specific policy changes—often supported by proposed bill language.
“These documents are more than just policy statements. They’re advocacy tools,” said Roy Littlefield IV, TIA’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “They help educate lawmakers, federal agencies, and other stakeholders about how federal actions directly impact tire dealers, manufacturers, and service providers across the country.”

Each paper provides context on the issue it addresses, explains TIA’s policy recommendations, and offers a call to action.
TIA said the Papers aim to bridge the gap between policymakers and the realities of operating within the tire industry.
Ongoing Relevance in a Dynamic Landscape
TIA has distributed the 2025 Position Papers to members of Congress, industry stakeholders, and the media. These documents will guide the association’s government affairs efforts throughout the year. TIA said it will update the document as new legislation emerges and industry challenges evolve.
