This year, Xwift will replace 25% of its diesel consumption with HVO. This renewable diesel, produced from waste oils, reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 90% without modifications to engines or impact on operational performance. HVO is certified according to the European RED II directive and the international ISCC standard.
With this choice, the company immediately achieves a substantial emission reduction. “We are reducing our CO₂ emissions today without losing our operational strength. At the same time, we are building a fully electric future step by step. In this way, we are not making sustainability a brake, but an accelerator of our competitiveness,” says Carl Pardoen, Chief Commercial Officer at Xwift.
In addition, Xwift is further expanding its electric fleet. The company today has seven electric trucks, which reduce local emissions and fuel consumption. The distribution vehicles are also switching to electric propulsion in phases, tailored to range, technological maturity and available charging infrastructure. Xwift bases these investments on the TCO over the entire lifespan of each vehicle, so that the transition is correct both ecologically and economically.
The next milestone follows in Lokeren, where Xwift is building a new service center. The site will open in early 2027 and will operate completely CO₂ neutral. The center functions as a maintenance hub, charging location for electric trucks and distribution point for HVO fuel.
