Must read

Following last month’s preview of our international with The Tyre Group managing director Chris Freeman, here the complete interview goes into further detail relating to the company’s post-acquisition growth strategu. But first a quick summary of the background. Just over a year ago, Malvern Tyres acquired Just Tyres, a Milton Keynes-based national tyre fitter with 39 autocentres mainly in Greater London, the home counties, and Yorkshire, propelling The Tyre Group—encompassing brands like Malvern Tyres, County Tyres, Discount Tyres, King David Tyres, Auto Tyre & Battery Co., and now Just Tyres—from a regional leader to a national powerhouse with an initial projection of over 100 retail centres. Founded more than 35 years ago and recently rebranded from The Malvern Tyres Group to reflect its diversified portfolio, the company has focused on “right-sizing” through operational streamlining, successfully integrating Just Tyres to reach approximately 102 branches supported by 14 UK warehouses. Looking ahead, managing director Chris Freeman shared insights with T&A on the group’s rapid progress as one of the UK’s fastest-growing tyre retailers, with ambitions to expand to as many as 200 points of sale within the next two to five years.
