We discovered this new Chinese manufacturer at the IAA Transportation Fair in 2024: Superpanther concluded an industrial cooperation agreement with Steyr Automotive for the construction of electric trucks in Austria.
Superpanther has developed an electric tractor, the Etopas 600, which uses an Eaxle axis with two linked engines. He has a battery capacity of more than 600 kWh and should get a range of 500 kilometers. This vehicle will therefore be produced in the Steyr Automotive factory in Graz, but both parties have not yet announced anything about the intended volumes or the date on which the production could start. In any case, it is excellent news for Steyr (which is part of the Canadian Magna group), which had lost the assembly of the Volta Zero trucks after the bankruptcy of this new manufacturer. And it also means that a new Chinese truck brand will be on the European market soon.
