Sun Auto Tire Acquisitions Expand Network In Two States

Must read

Sun Auto Tire & Service announced two acquisitions in Arkansas (Hindsman & Son Tire and Service) and North Carolina (Jackson Auto Worx).

Founded in 1976 by Lee Jackson Sr. and Julian Stith, Jackson Auto Worx has served Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for nearly 50 years. The location now connects Sun Auto’s Piedmont Tire Service site in King with multiple Tire Max locations across the metro.

“For almost 50 years, Jackson Auto Worx has been part of Winston-Salem,” said Lee Jackson, Jr. “Joining Sun Auto ensures our customers will keep receiving the personal service they value. We’re proud of what we’ve built and excited to see the next chapter under Sun Auto’s leadership.”

Hindsman & Son Tire Sale In Arkansas

Sun Auto also purchased Hindsman & Son Tire and Service in Russellville, Arkansas. Tommy Hindsman founded the business in 1987. Under the leadership of Sam and Kellie Hindsman, it has become a trusted shop in the Arkansas River Valley, it said. The Russellville site now provides tire distribution capability and links Sun Auto’s Plaza Tire Service stores across north Arkansas.

“Deciding to sell was not easy,” said Sam and Kellie Hindsman. “But we believe Sun Auto is the right step forward for our family, our employees, and our loyal customers. We are grateful for the trust and support our community has shown us. We are confident that Sun Auto will continue to deliver the same exceptional service and care our guests expect.”

Sun Auto Tire Acquisitions Expand Market Coverage

“Both acquisitions demonstrate how we continue to execute on our strategy of adding density in key markets where we already have strong brand presence,” said Chris Ripani, Chief Operating Officer of Sun Auto Tire & Service. “By building scale in places like the Piedmont Triad and central Arkansas, we increase efficiency, unlock synergies across our network. We wanted to preserve the strong community relationships established by these local operators while providing even more value to guests.”

In North Carolina, Sun Auto said Jackson Auto Worx strengthens its footprint by linking Piedmont Tire Service in King with multiple Tire Max sites. In Arkansas, Hindsman & Son Tire connects Plaza Tire Service stores in the north and adds distribution support, the company said.

Service and Operational Growth

These Sun Auto Tire acquisitions expand service capacity for tire sales, tire maintenance, and general automotive repair in both regions, it said. Locations now support wheel alignment, balancing, and TPMS service, with added distribution capability in Russellville.

Sun Auto said the acquisitions increase efficiency, expand brand visibility, and strengthen community ties in both markets.
