Sumitomo Rubber announced a recall on certain Dunlop TT93FGP PRO and TT93FGP PRO MS motorcycle tires, size 120/80-12 55J and 100/90-12 49J. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, during manufacturing, some of the sidewall compound may have contaminated the tread surface. This reduces the tire’s traction. Tires that do not provide sufficient traction increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the tires or provide reimbursement at no cost. Owners can expect letters on Sept. 15. Owners may contact Sumitomo customer service at 1-800-845-8378.
