Sumitomo Rubber has been named the official tire partner of Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as the Gran Turismo World Series. The announcement came during the championship event in Berlin, Germany, on Sept. 20. The Dunlop and Gran Turismo partnership aligns with the company’s long-term “R.I.S.E. 2035” strategy, which focuses on enhancing the value of the Dunlop brand worldwide, it said.
Earlier this year, Sumitomo Rubber acquired the Dunlop trademark and related rights for four-wheel tires in Europe, North America, and Oceania. The acquisition allows Dunlop to operate as a global brand across multiple regions and business units.
Dunlop and Gran Turismo Partnership
In a future Gran Turismo 7 update, the Dunlop brand will appear in several in-game features:
- Brand central museum: A showcase of over 130 years of Dunlop history, technology, and motorsport achievements.
- Trackside branding: Dunlop logos featured on circuits within the game.
- Tuning shop: Players will be able to choose Dunlop tires to enhance vehicle performance.
- Special events: A Dunlop-themed time trial event will celebrate the new partnership.
