When working on its proprietary Sensing Core tyre technology, in 2023 Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) turned to US-based AI solutions startup Viaduct. The collaboration between the two companies went so well that SRI soon invested, and the investor has now become Viaduct’s new owner. On 27 August, it signed an agreement to acquire Viaduct, Inc. for a total of US$104 million.
