The Social Fund Transport & Logistics and the Forem presented a new truck on the TransPRO fair that is equipped with a rijsmulator. This simulator will be made available to high school students who are following a course in the ‘freight transport’ sector and to job seekers.
This new Rijsmulator, which is fully financed with the proceeds of the kilometer charge for an amount of 824,000 euros, is more realistic thanks to three high-definition screens that display the sensations in different driving scenarios: driving on the highway or in the mountains, winter or rainy conditions, dry or icy roads.
The device will be used in the five schools of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation that offer secondary education for future truck drivers. It will also be used in the context of the training of job seekers who want to retrain in this sector.
“This simulator will play a central role in the training for professions in road transport. Aspirant truck drivers can comfortably install themselves in the cabin and refine their driving skills by choosing from various practical situations,” said Geert Heylen, director of the SFTL.
