The HGV Technician Apprenticeship will combine hands-on training from GTG’s expert trainers in Renault Trucks’ newly-opened, state-of-the-art training centre in Leicester with practical on-site training.

Apprentices will be fully equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to become technicians in the commercial vehicle industry, learning with the latest technology and diagnostic equipment.

Rosie Hawkins, GTG Quality Systems Manager, said: ‘We’re excited to work alongside Renault Trucks to support the growth and development of future technicians.

‘This partnership strengthens our commitment to providing high-quality training that meets the evolving demands of the automotive sector.

‘By investing in apprenticeship programmes, businesses are not only addressing current skills gaps but are also building a strong foundation for the future of the industry.

‘Delivered through a blend of classroom instruction, workshop-based learning, and real-world dealership experience, the training is tailored to meet the standards of both Renault Trucks and the broader commercial vehicle sector.’

Mandla Ndhlovu, Technical Academy Manager for Renault Trucks UK and Ireland, added: ‘From the initial tender for our apprentice programme, it was an easy decision to have GTG Training as our new apprentice training provider.

‘Over the last eight months, the benefit to the apprentices and the Renault brand has been nothing short of remarkable, including the customer relationship, quality of delivery, safeguarding and the recruitment process.’
