PostNL takes up climate neutral depot in Hooglede

Must read

PostNL has put a brand new sorting and distribution depot into use in Hooglede. In a first phase, PostNL takes 9,000 m² from the new building, where 200 people will work.
This includes 140 deliverers who leave daily from Hooglede for 830 journeys per week. The depot is part of a network of eight Belgian sorting centers, and there is room for expanding to 15,000 m².

The new depot in Hooglede was designed with sustainability as the starting point. PostNL shares the building with logistics player Eutraco. The entire building runs on solar energy via an installation of 4 MW, supported by a 3 MW battery system. Rainwater recovery, industrial heat pumps, maximum insulation and LED lighting on sensors make the building completely climate neutral.
