PGS Group, European market leader in new and reconditioned wooden pallets, enters the Italian market thanks to the acquisition of Beretta Pallets, a historic family business in Mapello in the province of Bergamo. This strategic acquisition strengthens PGS’s presence in one of Europe’s most important industrial regions.
Beretta Pallets has been active in the wood industry for more than a century and has specialized in the production of both standard and customized pallets. The site in Mapello covers an area of 23,500 m², of which 6,000 m² of industrial production capacity.
PGS is starting significant investments at the location. “From March 2026, two new production lines, drying ovens and a spray booth will become operational, which will triple the annual production capacity to approximately 1.5 million pallets,” says CEO Luc Grauwet (in the middle of the photo). The site also offers space for further expansion.
PGS Group, which includes Belgian branches in Gistel and Ostend, was founded in 1993 and has grown into a European market leader with more than 50 branches in 13 countries and approximately 1,200 employees.
