Old World Industries (OWI), the company behind PEAK automotive antifreeze and coolant and BlueDEF diesel exhaust fluid, has acquired J&J Lubricantes. This Mexico-based manufacturer and distributor of coolants, oils, and lubricants joins OWI as part of a long-term growth plan. The OWI Mexico expansion aims to enhance local manufacturing and distribution of flagship products.
The company plans to apply its technical knowledge to better serve customers across the Mexican market. With this acquisition, OWI deepens a 25-year partnership with J&J Lubricantes.
“We’re excited to grow with our customers and take a bigger role as the right solutions provider for quality coolants, DEF, oils, and other lubricants in Mexico,” said Greg Noethlich, chief executive officer of OWI. “We are continuing to invest in bringing quality products and technologies with simplified supply chain solutions to our customers.”
Driving Efficiency Through Local Partnerships
Javier Gonzales, owner of J&J Lubricantes, anticipates a new chapter in the companies’ long-standing relationship.
“After more than two decades of close collaboration, this acquisition is a natural and exciting next step,” said Gonzales. “It strengthens our ability to serve customers with greater efficiency and deliver vehicle-specific solutions that are more responsive to the unique needs of the Mexican market.”
OWI Mexico Expansion Supports Local Manufacturing
Under OWI’s leadership, the team will streamline operations and respond faster to customer needs. The OWI Mexico expansion allows for improved lead times and more effective distribution, the company said.
“Our goal is to build on our strong history with J&J Lubricantes,” said Warren Morrow, Chief Operating Officer of OWI. “This will allow us to serve customers with improved lead times and better distribution costs.”
OWI plans to align new products with local market demands. These include expanded distribution, updated packaging, and advanced formulations – all designed to meet regional performance needs.
