North Sea Port is building new headquarters on the Belgian-Dutch border

Must read

North Sea Port announces the construction of a new headquarters on the border of Sas van Gent (the Netherlands) and Zelzate (Belgium). The Landmark building must bring together all employees of the port authority under one roof.

The building, which must be ready by the end of 2028, will have an area of 4,000 to 5,000 m² and will meet the strictest sustainability requirements. North Sea Port currently has offices in Ghent and Terneuzen. All departments come together with the centralization in one head office, including a modern Port Operations Center for Shipping Guidance and Safety. This bundling of services should lead to shorter lines of communication, faster decision -making and better services to companies.

The building is built to the left of the canal, in the top left corner on this photo.

Cooperation

The location next to the Ghent – Terneuzen canal and on the national border is both symbolic and practical: the office must grow into a recognizable landmark that reinforces cooperation between Flanders and Zeeland. “This new head office will be a symbol for connection, sustainability and cooperation,” said Cas König, CEO of North Sea Port.

With 550 companies and more than 100,000 (in) direct jobs, North Sea Port is the ninth port of Europe in goods crossing and an important economic engine for the border region.
