No-longer hidden Autogem – complete interview

Must read

Following our online preview around this time last month as well as publication in our print publication, here is our complete interview with Autogem’s owners and staff as they celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. The headline harks back to our first interview with company 17 years ago, highlighting the giant steps forward since then. Our conversation was wide-ranging, but tells the story of how the family-owned garage supplier led a turnaround and moved to technology from toilet paper. Along the way we cover the strategic decision to add TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems) parts to firm’s portfolio, plus technology and training as key parts of the business. Having purportedly delivered over 63 million components in its lifetime, Autogem positions itself as an “OEM and Aftermarket Accredited Supplier,”. The firm’s portfolio focuses on three key categories: Tyre consumables, which includes balancing weights, valves, plug patches, chemical solutions, tools, and equipment; Workshop consumables: such as TPMS sensors, exhaust gaskets and fittings, wiper blades etc; and an emerging focus on turbochargers for both petrol and diesel vehicles.
