Movianto, logistics service provider specialized in the pharmaceutical and health sector and part of the French Walden Group, has set up a European network for storage at temperatures up to at least 80 degrees Celsius. This responds to the increasing demand for international storage and distribution solutions for vaccines, research and raw materials, semi-finished products and medicines manufactured biotechnologically.
The capacity has since been rolled out in nine countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. In Switzerland and Slovakia, the implementation is still in the start -up phase. In addition to storage, Movianto also offers transport services: Products can be transported in special containers that maintain the ultra -lane temperature, or are being defrosted and further cooled or frozen to their destination.
Impulse by Corona
Movianto has built up the expertise in ultra -deep freezer storage in the last ten years, with an extra boost during the Coronapandemie, including the central storage and distribution of vaccines in the Netherlands and the UK. CEO Thomas Creuzberger emphasizes that it is not only about installing the right freezers, but especially about validating equipment and processes. Those best practices have since been transferred to all national branches of the group.
According to Creuzberger, the importance of this temperature segment is increasing, especially in the development of new vaccines where stability data is often missing in the initial phase. Due to storage at ultralage temperatures, effectiveness can remain guaranteed until sufficient data is available.
