Milence has opened a new public charging hub for electric trucks in Ghent. The site, near the Schansakker exit on the R4 and next to the Volvo factory, is the fourth Milence hub in Belgium. The company already has hubs in the port of Antwerp-Bruges and in Maasmechelen.
The charging hub is located in the port area of Ghent and supports electric transport corridors along the North Sea–Mediterranean Corridor, connecting Belgium with logistics hubs in France, the Netherlands and Germany.
In the first phase, the hub will have four CCS charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW. This allows electric trucks to charge quickly during transport operations. In the next phase, Milence wants to switch to Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology. This technology enables even faster charging and can charge truck batteries in about 30 to 45 minutes. MCS chargers are already operational at Milence hubs in Zwolle, in the port of Antwerp-Bruges and in Landvetter in Sweden.
The new charging hub is specifically designed for trucks and is accessible to all brands. Drivers can use drive-through loading bays and sanitary facilities. Payment can be made via contactless payment, e-Mobility Service Provider cards or with the Milence Charge Card.
Milence has also adapted its rate structure to local market conditions. Since January 1, 2026, the basic rate in Belgium has been 0.379 euros per kWh, excluding VAT.
